Basket of Eggs Easter Kids Craft
The Basket of Eggs craft is a slightly more advanced craft. Children need to be able to weave paper strips which is great for fine mtor skill development. It takes very basic craft supplies to make this lovely Easter decoration.
What you need:
- 1 piece each brown, white, yellow (or other Easter colour) construction paper
- Scissors
- Rotary cutter or craft knife (optional)
- glue
- markers, stamps, easter stickers
What you do:
- Cut out a basket shape from the brown construction paper. This shape should be fairly basic and approximately 1/2-1" narrower than the yellow construction paper. I find 8x8" to be a good size. Use your rotary cutter (or scissors) to make slits in the basket from side to side, leave approximately 1/2" on either side uncut. The slits are best left for an adult to do.
- Use the brown paper scraps to cut strips of brown paper 1/4-1/2" wide and slightly longer than the bottom portion of your basket is high.
- Use the white paper to cut out egg shapes (approximately 3x2").Usually 6 eggs are enough to fill the basket.
- Weave the brown strips through the basket slits, trim ends and glue in place.
- Decorate eggs as desired and arrange eggs and basket on yellow paper.
- Glue in place.
